We found a widespread rain/temperature crust from yesterday, on all aspects, and all elevation bands. Made for poor skiing conditions, and even a bit catchy on the snowmobile. As the pictures show, wind has scoured most aspects, but East facing slopes seemed loaded, and holding recent snow under this latest rain crust.
A clear day, and good forecast gave us confidence to take a look in the blowmidins today. Strong solar input by mid day.
Repeated CTM, down 20cm in our East facing pit today at 250m. Failure was not on a crust, but within new snow, under yesterdays rain crust. No propagation on this layer, at this location, in propagation test.
