Avalanche Information

Weather: -7C at 7:30, warming to -3C at 2:00. Cloudy early in the day clearing after noon. Wind calm in the morning, starting to pick up around 2:00. A loose dry had deposited 1’-2’ of debris for a distance of 30’, starting at the gear-up spot. We encountered debris from another loose dry on the left side of the start of pitch 3, depth & run similar to the first observation. Since ‘everything’ looks quite snowy, I suspect either a tree bomb or a snow mushroom collapsed. The last pic is of a tiny loose dry above the start of the hike to Stout/HiTest. With the forecast calling for wind in the afternoon & the avy bulletin warning about steep gully’s, we decided against heading up for the ‘bonus’ pitches. Although these were pretty small debris paths, there was enough snow to knock you over, & drag you along for the ride.
