Ski triggered avalanche below fan of couloir on Big Kahuna on a ski cut. Cut a size 2 avalanche that ran slowly on the recent buried wind crust from last week. After skiing some good north faces yesterday we opted to skin up east face and drop in Big Kahuna. Surprisingly the east face had 10-20 soft snow despite 30 km/hr south winds with gusts of around 50 km which made for very easy skinning. Looking down big Kahuna we were surprised to find visible wind effect and texture in the snow. The south winds were wiping over Fraser mountain and into the couloir, carrying snow with them. We decided to ski down anyways, hoping snow quality would improve further below and cut a wind slab just below the fan. No skier involvement. It ran slowly but was humbling to see how far it carried. Found some good snow in the chutes afterwards on our way out.
