Quick Observation

We found another shallow snowpack only 90 cm deep on a south aspect at treeline. We found some nonreactive small surface hoar on a settled upper pack. The lower half of the snowpack consists of large facets. What was lacking was the November crust. Recent south west winds appear to have cross loaded alpine features in the area. We did not observe any fresh avalanches. Alpine temps were still cool at -5.
