Best sunrise I have experienced in a while. A mix bag of chalky snow and boot top powder in the couloir itself. Lower Anniversary glacier is still quite saggy in places (but no openings visible) so we roped up after exiting the couloir.
Attempted to boot cut the convex roll/ wind slab at the top of Sunset couloir. We could not get anything on the top 60-70cm to react after weakening the slab in ski boots on rappel. Dug a column and found the melt/freeze crust down approximately 70cm. Got a resistant planar failure near that layer on the final shoulder tap of the compression test. Ski cut the convexity on rappel as a final measure and determined it was stable enough.
