Onion Early Season

Saw MIN report of King Louis, we did not see signs of avalanches in the Onion area of the Babines.

Evidence of overnight winds from the W/SW, winds during the day were from the SE, Fresh snow observed was 10cm

ECTN 19 @ 40cm, ECTP 28 @ 50cm (Suspect this was the buried hoar), Fresh snow observed was 10cm, Friday Night Saturday morning storm appears to have deposited 30m in the area, Snow depth varied at treeline between 50 and 90cm, Snow depth in alpine was 10-30cm,

Second skier down felt rocks and turned across slope to the left(west) to stop. Moved onto an isolated wind slab which propagated up and to the left beyond the skier to the left (west). Skier was carried down about 20-25m and was buried to knees at location of photo. Skier was not injured.
