Sticky icky

We toured from Raven lodge to lake Helen Mackenzie, to Lady Lake, then back along Battleship Lake. Around 9am we observed 8” or so of recent soft snow sitting on top of a very crispy and fragile rain crust. The crust extends deep in some areas. Some slashing released the fresh snow with minimal effort. The crust also released after more slashing. The snow was so sticky we didn’t need skins for our return. It snowed hard on and off all day.
