Lewis Hills

Long Range Mountains

Good access to the Lewis Hills today from the green tank. More new snow in the Corner Brook area then in the Lewis Hills. In the Lewis Hills, snow from previous 72 hrs was on SW facing slopes. Highly variable in depth, heavy, and seemed well bonded to the widespread thick crust below. Definitely a thin snow pack for this time of year, with lots of ways to beat up your sled without carful route selection. We saw no evidence of recent avalanche activity, and couldn’t get any snow moving around ourselves. 0°C at 600 m at noon. Mostly cloudy and little solar effect. A treat to get up there today.
