A Moderately Good Time 😎

We were seeking out sheltered areas for good snow today. They can be found although they are few and far between. A stiff, wind-affected surface makes for challenging skiing and riding in most areas. We traveled into the Big Y and Big Blue drainages and saw no new avalanches. We were 'stepping out' today, but still traveled one at a time on steeper features and avoided trigger points for the persistent slab problem -like large open slopes with thin-to-thick (where the snowpack transitions from shallow to deep over a short distance) snowpack.
