We went to Corbin to explore the area. The snow conditions were very variable.
BTL was powder not wind affected but as soon as we got at TL the snow pack was wind affected. We could find a layer of 5cm F powder on top of a 20-25 cm of 4F wind slab. On our way up, this one released 3 times by itself while cutting our hand shears. This slab was not found everywhere. At higher elevations (+/-2050 M) the snowpack was hard pack due to the wind (see on the picture).
The snow did not avalanche from our ski cut however a Sz 1-1,5 avalanche released while we ski down at TL on the SE aspect (refer to picture).
