Quick Observation

- 40cm snow depth at valley bottom, a series of crusts provide good support to allow travel through the boulder fields near and above William More creek, lots of hazards present such as open water, exposed and hidden rocks, rock holes that are bridged by the snowpack. - test pit at 1650m: N aspect, snow depth 95cm. 2cm breakable crust, overlies 20cm soft slab, overlies 30cm older soft slab, overlies a 1cm thick facet layer, multiple other crusts and old snow layers below that down to bottom of the snowpack (ice). Sudden collapse on 50cm 1cm thick facet layer at CT26. - Interesting to note a shallow (3m deep) bergschrund/ crevasse near the top of the feather bowl. Not sure if this is new or only visible very early in the season? - The snow was quite difficult to ski as the breakable crust was present at all elevations.
