Quick Observation

Dug a pit above the 5040 hut. Approximately 10 cm of new snow on top of 10 cm thick crust. Below that was 10 cms of pure graupel. In isolated column test the graupel slid on the snow below it after 3 from the elbow. Had a layer move below that after 7 from the shoulder, approximately 60 cm down. When skiing we never where able to break through the crust, and instead had a corn-like experience. Soft crust with some wet fresh snow on top: surprisingly a ton of fun.
