Mallard Lodge

No new avalanches since we arrived on Feb 17th. One isolated large whumfph (passive) at 2350m on north facing knoll. No shear results in deep snowpack areas. Snowpack is about 170cm at treeline and consist of faceted loose snow over a stiff supportive mid pack which overlies a weak depth hoar lower pack. Shallow area and unsupported or convex terrain are of concern. Cornices and steep snow pillows are weakening due to prolong cold. Looks like more sun on the way!
