Hector lake crossing is in by our observations. Good BTL/TL travel although there is a noticeable crust beneath recent storm later. Crust is less evident higher up.
Low winds at TL so no wind slab observed. Top layer didn’t have much cohesion however when the crust gave out - whumping observed.
Pit @ 2200m, SE aspect, 34 degrees, TL. Confirmed layers reported previously with HS @ 110cm upside down snowpack by finger test but facet layer seems smaller than last year!
ECTP28 on basal facets. Small obs and throughout the day the snowpack gave us little confidence. But the skiing was rad!
