- <p>It was a 4 Red Flag Day. We say numerous avalanches, experienced significant collapsing, say lots of cornices that had naturally failed, witnessed the bare southerly slopes, and our snowpit show a very poor snowpack structure.</p>
Exactly as the forecast indicated, the south aspects were blown mostly clear. Significant wind loads on the northerly aspects.
Cornices had naturally broke off along much of the ridgelines we walked (see photo).
Natural and human triggered avalanches were observed (see avalanche list)
Snowpack

- <p>The facet layer from 39-62Cm was the layer of most concern. This was an extremely weak layer with a 2mm facets.</p>
The snowpack is fairly unsupportable. The low density on top of multiple faceted layers was not enough to support a skiers weight.
