SW/S Facing Aspects Avalanches / Top Hat Traverse

Skied the Top Hat traverse Sunday March 27. Fast travel on the Hamilton Lake trail. -8 at the trailhead at 9:00. The sun was out in the am without having much impact, increased cloud cover from 11:30 onwards. Of note were large avy debris on the two South / SW facing slide paths on the summer trail (photo 1 and 2). There also was a large avalanche than ran to the valley floor on the exit route from Emerald Basin. It covered the creek and existing ski tracks entirely. Originated on a S / SW aspects again (photo 3 and 4).
