Young's Traverse/7 Steps

Young's Traverse into 7(ish) Steps of Paradise today. Tough uptrack to gain the glacier! Once on the Illecillewaet we consistently probed about 190cm (min 170, max 240). Lots of open holes but good bridges. A skintrack from a team that did Forever Young yesterday was completely filled in by wind-transported snow overnight. Ski quality was fantastic on the way down and exceeded our expectations. We decided to avoid the huge crevasses on the middle steps by trending towards the Pterodactyl and rejoining the route closer to the bottom of the glacier. Started to feel the crust around 2000m. Free base grind on the ski-out!!
