Quick Observation

We had a great day touring around the Cain Backcountry. 20 cm of creamy coastal pow sits above the March 10 crust, and the wind slabs have lost their reactivity. Feels like this is one of those special times when you can probably ski some bigger lines in good condition and low avalanche hazard. Today we were able to ski relatively aggressive lines right from ridge top. We felt comfortable skiing over convex terrain features without concern. The convective conditions gave us all the different kinds of weather, even a little sunshine. We encountered some moderate wind at ridge top, but it was not forming any fresh slabs. Looking forward to seeing what new snow comes in tonight.
