Skied Narao left couloir this morning. Conditions in the couloir were good and improved the higher up I got. Did a few hand shears on the way up and felt good about what I saw, the new snow seemed to be bonding well. At the very top of the line there was evidence of a small, natural soft slab release on the skier’s right hand side that was partially filled in with new snow, probably from wind effect as it was on the leeward side. I ski cut this area but it was not reactive. The crux of the day was skiing out through the Narao ‘glades’ - very tight trees and a heinous breakable crust required quite a bit of focus and maneuvering to avoid injuring a knee.
