Went up to dig out the Renshaw weather station for the end of the season which resulted in a whooping 4 meter deep hole and much digging. Luckily we had four awesome volunteers show up to give us a hand moving the snow or we would probably still be there now. The day started out warm, sunny and windy but by late afternoon had switched to stormy and snowing (raining below 1600m). We saw one recent size 2 storm slab avalanche on a north facing slope in the alpine that looked as though it had been triggered by a falling cornice.
