We ascended the Thar route then cut south along the 1800m co tour line to access the Thar-Nak Col. New snow depth varied from 5-15cm and below isn't exactly a crust, but a dense crunchy layer, more notable on the solar aspects. We skied the north bowl and ascended back the same route. Less fresh snow on the North aspects but the skiing was still okay. We called it short because of visibility issues and opted to descend following the Nak Bowl route. While nothing seemed to propagate, the new snow was very actively sloughing, so we very carefully threaded the needle along the safest terrain we could find while avoiding convexities. We descended at 2pm and the group to the south of us reported accidentally triggering a size 2.5 at the same time as our descent. We were sking more shaded, treed, and mellow slopes, but ultimately that feels like a bit of a close call. Good skiing to be had, but please be careful and plan a safe descent on solar aspects.
