Took advantage of calm winds In the alpine, and mixed visibility. No recent avalanches were observed, although visibility was in and out through the day. During our tour, we did not observe any signs of instability, although observed many old, stiff wind slabs that could go in the right conditions. No formal snow pack tests, although we observed a facet layer above the early December crust that may become a problem with more loading. Fluffy soft snow is blanketing many alpine aspects, and some surface hoar has developed in more sheltered areas (~1cm) The steeper north facing lines into four lake basin are still thin and could use some more snow. Ski out was tight and tough, as usual for Four Lakes.
