Most of the approach the snow quality was not great, temperature crust underneath, then heavily wind affected supportive snow(non breakable). Thankfully the colder temperatures up high kept the headwall cool but 5-10cm on a mostly supportive sun crust made travel slow but was able to leave skis on and not boot pack to the Col. Cool dry powder on the descent back down to 2400m where the crust became breakable and more prominent underneath.
