Yukon calling winter, where are you?

Your friendly white pass avalanche field team here! I spent the morning in the White Pass doing some maintenance at the YAAFRA weather station.
Today was -3c, calm winds, no precipitation.
Driving out to White Pass from Carcross, I wondered where winter had gone, I could see dirt and grass. The recent warm temps have taken their toll. The snow line returned to highway elevations just before Log Cabin.
Low valley cloud obscured views of the alpine for most of the morning. The snowline (snow on trees) was observable in places at 300m above the highway.
Snowpack at road elevations is still only 20 - 25cm deep. There was 1-2cm of new low density snow sitting on top of a breakable melt freeze / rain crust with moist snow below.
Early season conditions still exist with perhaps less snow than two weeks ago. The waters are still shark infested (lots of buried rocks, tree stumps, alder).
Around midday, breaks in the cloud allowed for a glimpse of the alpine. As the attached pictures show, it looks like early season conditions up high too.
