Cold day on Grizzly Shoulder

RHay, Saturday 13th January, 2024 5:30PM
Toured up the standard Grizzly Shoulder route today (from the bowl). Uptrack was fun as always, no ice though. A quick hand pit at 1850m (S aspect) broke with moderate force, RP. The top of Grizzly was untouched 40cm of powder. Sun crust in spots. Tried to cut and jump a few safe areas with no slabs noticed. Approx 10-15cm of stuffing occurred on the steeper sections. Down below 1800m was a different ball game. Powder on unpredictable moguls. Small slabs noticed (10-20cm deep, see pics). Definitely needs to be filled in more. Overall bluebird day until 3pm. Temps were much nicer in the trees.
