Quick report

Low elevations almost don't have a skin track in parts, and the amount of melt is pretty astounding. Once above 7k feet snowpack thickens and shaded areas have stayed fairly cool and soft. Skied some mid-30 deg slopes and had a lot of fun! Definitely seeing runnels on upper elevation south aspects, and skied a bit of SE aspect corn (in January). Compression test required shoulder swings to fail, and it was a gradual collapse. Continued testing below this saw another collapse with a few more shoulder swings at the second crust 60cm down. Watch for faceting that appears like it might be starting below the crust layers. South/East aspects are totally different story, with spring diurnal in effect. Corn skiing was pretty good and watch for warm loose/wet dangers. Watch for loose wet signs. Didn't see a lot of roller-balls or other concerns, but the surface was definitely warming in the sun. Did see signs of runnels on south aspects, indicating water movement (probably the really warm days this last week).

Calm, clear, sunny, and pretty. Little snow transport via wind, and wind loading is mostly on crust. Below ridgelines some wind deposits might be found, but wind slab is pretty settled out.

Snowpack

app.propagationlabs.com/ob/Jx7M53W9MbcCMqfSmezM Last storm's snow was still good on the surface and made for good skiing on N/NE aspects protected from sun. Crusts exist at 30 and 60 cm down. CT24 Q3 30cm down, below the crust. Between and below the crust is pretty well consolidated snow that tends to be harder the deeper you go. Underneath it all the bottom has some softer snow but it can be made into a snowball and is nearly at 0C and fairly wet.
