Quick report

Cracking
isolated

From our up-track, we immediately observed a large avalanche on Mt Herman. We also observed isolated areas of cracking on an open slope on SW aspect @4350'. Overnight snow total at Mountaineer's lodge was 8cm, 15cms over 24h. Weather started today partly cloudy, but quickly changed to periods of alternating light and intense precip. We performed several ECT's at elevation 4750' on E aspects near Austin Pass, where we saw multiple failures within the storm snow without propagation. We travelled cautiously as planned in the morning, mostly avoiding avalanche terrain in the Swift Creek drainage and below Artist's Point. However, we did commit to small features, test slopes, and rollovers without experiencing any signs of instability.
