Quick report
Skinned up Iron Peak using the summer trail. Did not notice any cracking or instability while skinning, did not observe any natural avalanches or old avalanches. Dug a 140cm pit at 5400’ sw aspect. Propagation test provided fracturing but no propagation. the column test was highly reactive with Multiple weak layers in the snowpack. We did 2 different columns with the worst result with the persistent layer on the bottom fracturing at CT13. One layer above it fracturing CT6. On the second column a layer between the top and bottom layer fractured at CT11. The scary layer was 110cm deep. Circled in yellow Concern of the potential risk of an upper layer slab stepping down. We managed risk by keeping it all low angle.
