With good visibility, very little wind, powder, and a growing confidence in the snowpack, we were able have quite a nice day of skiing today. We skied open tree line and lower alpine slopes up to 38 degrees with confidence. We observed no signs of instability or recent avalanches in the Bryant/Fraser Lake area. We dug a quick snow profile at 1300m on a southeast facing slope. There was 185cm of snow on the 35 degree, cross loaded feature. We found 2 pronounced layers in the profile one down 50cm and the other down 125. Both had sugary, weak, facets around them but neither layer produced results in snowpack tests. All in all, it was beautiful day of skiing in the White Pass.
