Quick Observation
Post-storm update of balu ski resort. All time record of 5 car in the parking lot today. Felt somewhat cold (for this time of the year) when we left the car but it warmed up quickly. The classic mix bag weather we've been having lately sunny, cloudy and flurries. Most of the peak were sucked in the cloud but overcast/clear below. The sun poked out for a bit and was packing a punch. In less than an hour in was turning sticky and pinwheeling where it was hitting hard ( mostly pure south face). Going back for a second lap the previously sun baked slope were already starting to form a thin crust on top after the sun got replace by a cold breeze and some flurries. Dug a pit on top of grizzly shoulder SW aspect @2000 meter CTH6 RP failling 65cm down below the suncrust on facets. Storm snow feel like its consolidating well and produced no result. No sign of wind affected snow but would definitely watch that solar input this week. Deep everywhere but fluffier in shelter terrain.
