Small wind slabs in the alpine but otherwise good conditions at Harvey. We skinned up to the top of treeline and found no wind affect. Our snowpit at 2000m showed no layers of concern with 140 cm of snow on the ground. Below 1800m the snowpack shrank quickly down to around 30-40cm total. We put some P-tex on rocks to make things a bit smoother for the next group. Looking into the alpine the wind was blowing snow from the SW all day but it didn't look to be landing on the slope. We saw two natural size 1.5 wind slabs from immediately below the ridge top that we think were from within the last 12 hours. Awesome skiing
Snow conditions were: Deep powder. Weather conditions were: Cold, Sunny. We rode: Convex slopes, Mellow slopes, Open trees, Steep slopes. Riding quality was amazing.
Avalache Conditions: Slab avalanches today or yesterday.
