Elbow Lake

Shallow snow but decent ski quality. 10 cm soft powder with some wind affect. Great weather for an early season walk. Snow is deep enough to ski but lots of things poking through underneath.

Observed debris from recent small natural slab avalanche coming out of steep rocky alpine gully.

Gusty wind with some blowing snow accumulating in drifts and vertical cornices along a creek.

Compression test in open drifted SE aspect. HS 55 CTE 3 dn 10 cm at base of F windsl CTM 15 dn 25 at base of 4f windsl Rain crust very supportive. Foot pen down to the crust.
