We skied low angle slopes at Summit Creek. Plenty of beautiful fresh powder at tree line, anything above became wind affected and hard. We dug a pit on a South East aspect 24 degree angle slope, here’s what we found: - snow 160cm deep - 20 cm of fresh powder on top - Planar weak layer 50cm from surface - Facet layer 65cm from surface - No movement of layers upon ECT/tapping test. The layers only moved when pried, and were very cohesive blocks. - at the base was a thick layer of hard ice
