Back to winter at Beadnell

Headed up to Beadnell today to have a look at what the storm brought us. We found 30 cm of nice low density powder in sheltered areas below treeline, with recent wind transport evident in open cutblocks. Wind redistribution looked quite a bit more extensive at treeline and above, but a too-icy climb through the notch to the ridge prevented us from getting direct observations up high. We saw evidence of recent natural avalanches that included small point releases, likely triggered by Monday's sunshine, and one large glide slab release just above Beadnell Lake. With less than 30cm of new snow on the debris, it seems like this one ran during the storm.
