Fraser South to North

The wind was blowing from the North on Saturday and has cross loaded much of Fraser with recent storm snow. We kept to relatively protected terrain and were observing frequent shooting cracks and pockets of wind slab sliding on planar and convex features (15-25 cm in depth). Riding quality was good deep in the gullies, but hard wind pressed snow and crust can be found anywhere the wind could get to. We toured from the south to the north drainage immediately south of the gully, and found the southern-most chutes to have the best ski quality.
