Feb. 27: wonderful day on Sugarloaf. no signs of instability.
Feb. 28: Lots of wind transport. Stripping and cross-loading on ~east through northerly aspects of Sugarloaf and Stoker Hill. Mostly unreactive and stubborn cracking in the wind slabs. Occasionally more reactive cracking in the wind slabs, but not touchy. Largest wind slabs I've seen yet this season below treeline. 4-8" thick. 4f to 1f hardness over fist snow. New wind-blown snow covered some of our tracks from the previous day on Sugarloaf. Noted crown and debris on northerly aspect of Stoker Hill.
Avalanche
Feb. 28: A crown line was observed on top of Stoker Hill—northerly aspect. Within the last 48 hours, maybe. Less than 100' wide. Maybe 6-8" deep. Maybe D1.5. Crown and debris were a bit obfuscated by the winds. It did not appear to be large enough to bury a person. Maybe SS-N-D1.5 See photo.
