Quick report

Observed avalanche debris just W of Avalanche Gully, partially covered by more recent snowfall. Also observed a small amount of avalanche debris? at the headwall of Avalanche Gully. Observed no other signs of recent instability in the snowpack in my viewshed. Observed avalanche debris below Melanie's Run on the SW side of Avalanche gully. This probably occurred during the recent major wind event on 1/11-13/25(pic).

The area was exposed to a major wind event from 1/11 - 1/13/25. The anomometer on the Arctic Valley summit weather station registered 107 before going offline. Mary Gianotti investigated the site today and found the instrument to be gone from the tower. See her observation for 1/16.

Snowpack

Variable snowpack but consisted of approx. 8cm of mostly loose to windpacked snow on a supportable base. Made for pleasant skiing. Some icy patches where major wind transport had occurred. Did a pit on the NW aspect of Rendevous Peak and just NE of Avalanche Gully (attached). HS = 150cm. Got CT19at 110cmQ1. ECTN 28@110Q1. Slab collapsed on 4F layer of rounds.
