Quick report

Toured from Santiam Pass to the start of the south ridge off TFJ. Dug a pit at 5,800' on the NE aspect on the top of the burned out bowls south of TFJ. Identified a crust later 140cm down, performed a column test on that pillar. Had reactive shears at 5 CT (~20cm, clean planar) and 8 CT (another ~20cm down, clean planar). The snowpack was layered with 2 noticeable thin soft sections about 20 and 40cm down after that it was pretty consistent down to 140cm. We stuck to lower angle slopes in the trees and that skied pretty well (though the snow was pretty heavy)! Temps were hovering right around freezing. We also noticed some loose heavy sluff falling off the cliffs during the tour.
