Quick report
Headed out to the land of Oz yesterday looking to soak up some rays and find soft snow. Ridgetop winds and shade convinced us that the snow had survived on our way up Skook, but as the angles steepened below 6500ft on Dorothy’s south aspect, zipper crusts and various textures of mashed potatoes mixed into the buffet. Same went for the SW aspects we skinned back up getting back to the ridge: shade survived while the sun fried. We didn’t see evidence of roller balls or proper wet loose activity during our day, but it clearly happened before and has been noted in other obs. Skies were clear all day, winds were light at ridgetops. Temps were below freezing unless sunwarmed. No precip.
