We skied down the ridge between Truman and Jones Crk, then toured back up and skied down The Ramp. The main instability was recent wind slabs which were 3-6" thick. These cracked and broke on small rollovers.
We dug a pit on a southwest facing slope at 8,470' and two pits adjacent to each other on a northwest facing slope at 8,270'. Most ECT reults were ECTN10s 4-8" down and ECTN23,29,26 below hard crusts 1-3 feet off the ground. Snow depth was 2.5-4.5' deep. We had one ECTP8 ~8" down below a recent wind slab, breaking on lower density decomposing and slightly faceted snow.
Temps felt very cold compared to what we've been expereiencing. Winds were light to moderate, with some strong gusts. There was not much for snow transport, but signs of a lot of previous wind transport, loading and erosion. Surfaces remained soft and powdery in sheltered areas.
