We had a great time skiing the run after conducting the test off to the side. No noticible red flags while skiing.
Snowpack
- Instability Comment
-
About 20-30cm new snow, soft-slab and loose. This snow has fallen on about a 1.5cm thick crust. New snow failed in an CT4 and ECTP4 on top of the upper most crust. Overall pretty right-side up snowpack, but there was a soft layer underneath the crust. No noticeable reaction below the crust on which the new snow sits.

Ground layer is quite firm and damp. We measured about 85cm of total snow.

This observation occurred at 8:45 pm. Slope was 30 degrees, outside air temp was low 20 degree.

While the slab failed across the ECT, it was not bonded well and sloughed apart pulled.
