A party of 2 skiers triggered an avalanche in Suicide Chute (Shane's Chute) sometime on the morning of Tuesday February 6, 2024. They reported it to Alta Central as a wind-drifted snow avalanche that caught 1 of the skiers and ran down the chute into the choke stopping just short of the apron.
Thank you to the parties involved for reporting this avalanche to Alta Central. If you trigger an avalanche in the backcountry, AND NO ONE IS HURT or needs help, please notify the nearest ski area dispatch to avoid a needless response by rescue teams.
