Quick report
We went up the pass looking for some visibility, and we found it. Treeline up to 3000ft was breakable crust, but once we got up above the clouds, the snow softened up and the sun came out. I dug a pit at 4700ft in a shallow part of the pack, and I found the Dec. facets with depth hoar at the bottom. ECTX. All around fun day, good turns, and sunshine.

The valley and lower elevations were foggy and thick with clouds, but once we rose above them, it was hazy, with big pockets of sunshine. Light breeze from the SE, temps stayed cold.
Snowpack
I dug a pit at 4700ft in a shallow part of the snowpack, 100cm deep. The total snow depth in the area was over 200cm. Found the Dec facets with some depth hoar at the bottom. ECTX, the melt-freeze layer at 62-61cm, broke under a hard shovel shear.
