Quick report
The recent outflow event has done a lot of damage to snow surfaces. Wind slabs were very hard and triggering an avalanche was unlikely due to the inabillity for the slab to bend/crack due to its strength. Slide for life would have been the main concern if we had entered into steep terrain.

Clear, cold and light to moderate north wind.
Snowpack
Good stability was observed with a variety of snow at the surface that was all very hard. Snow surface at low elevations had been stripped down to the Christmas rain crust in most locations with areas of knife hard sastrugi and wind slabs on the lee side of terrain features.
Avalanche
Natural avalanches were observed on recently wind loaded slopes that occurred within the last 48 hours in the D1 -D2.5 range. DOT mitigation efforts produced an R1-D2.5 on South Three Pigs that ran ~ 800'/south aspect on 1/19.
