Quick report
Toured up past tobacco flat towards the North Face of Mount Aggie today. Raised tracks and sastrugi were the name of the game. In the gully below the East Face of Mono Jim, surface crusts ranged from 1F to Knife hardness. No wind transport was observed, despite a persistent moderate wind. Snowpack depth on wind stripped slopes ranged from 0-35 cm. In some leeward deposition areas, depth exceeded 320 cm. Soft (albeit variable) snow was hidden in densely treed, north facing slopes. The effects of wind stripping/transport from our recent wind event were very apparent on the adjacent peaks.
