Red Flags Comment

No collapsing or cracking but there were areas where I'd drop into the weak facets both skiing and skinning. This area has been heavily affected by the strong winds and much of the snow has been carried off over the ridge or even further.

The winds wreaked havoc today. Even the ground winds were whipping.

Instability Comment

Snowpack is still weak in general. Facets underlying a growing slab.

Winds were howling today and snow transport was rapid. Cornices building on lee sides.

West faces were wind hammered and only had about 6" of medium density new snow. Large wind pillows towards the ridgeline.
