- <p>Signs of rapid warming were evident by 10:45 am even on north east facing shaded terrain. Had to abandon my intended route because of rapidly increasing instability. Rollerballs and treebombs were going off and loose wet triggered slides were happening by 11am. Temps peaked around noon to 1pm. With temps dropping throughout the afternoon I imagine loose wet activity decreased. </p>
1. Shade = breakable crust, sun = deep glop 2. 1-1.5 " crust 3. Even NE facing slopes were rollerballing by mid morning 4. Large chunks of older cornice fall 5. The Wellsvilles are holding good snow, at least up high. 6. Otto found the best use for snow conditions today.

- <p>RAPIDLY warming temps this morning caused RAPIDLY increasing instability. New snow from last weekends storm is now mostly damp except for MAYBE isolated shaded N facing pockets at upper elevations. Tomorrow's even warmer temps should affect all elevations and aspects. </p> <p>Saw evidence of previous cornice fall as well as cornices still in tact hanging on the ridge. </p>
Pick your poison today- deep, sticky glop or breakable crust. Wasn't expecting much but conditions were especially under-whelming. Have to wait for a lengthy melt-freeze cycle to settle the snow and allow for corn to redevelop.
