Quick Observation

Very warm day with a very crusty and icy skin up. Hiked up in the alpine on the dry W side of the ridge. Skiied corn on E aspects and even found some dry snow on sheltered N aspects.

Avalanche Information

Wide 3-5m deep glide crack on E/NE aspect from last week's MIN report more visible now as all the loose snow that partially filled them is melted now; though there is evidence of wet loose avalanches above them partially filling them in. Lots of avalanche hazard on solar aspects. Noticed many cornices ready to drop, cornices dropping on rock, and wet loose natural slides.

Snowpack

Very hard crust all the way up to ~1500m where it got a bit softer breakable. At treeline ~2000m it was very icy and required ski crampons. Found lots of corn all the way down until back to the incredibly hard stuff at 1500m which made for some truly terrible survival skiing.
