Some shooting cracks and eerie hollow wind slabs on the cross loaded ridges. New soft slab was cracking and sliding off old wind slab. We ended up avoiding these areas and skiing low angle sheltered trees with no overhead hazard.

Snow conditions were: Deep powder. Weather conditions were: Cold, Cloudy. We rode: Mellow slopes, Dense trees, Open trees. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Convex slopes. Riding quality was good.

Avalache Conditions: 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours. Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.
