Quick Observation
Nice day of skiing on the Molars and Repeater. Experienced extensive whumpfing and shooting cracks between 1600m and 2100m in East aspect trees failing on Jan 27th SH and facets. Good skiing on SE aspects up high with minimal wind affect despite strong gusts at ridge top. Skier triggered two size 1.5 avalanches on Jan 27 SH and facets in the boulder field at 1600m. Same avalanche reported in previous MIN. See Avalanche tab. Also witnessed result of skier accidental size 2 on North East end of Molars at 2100m reported in previous MIN. Glad everyone was ok! See photo. Things are changing out there, especially in lower elevations and areas that have seen limited skier traffic.
Avalanche Information
Kicking steep pillows while approaching alternate entrance to the boulder field. Pillows failed on Jan 26 SH and triggered two size 1.5 avalanches on slope below in two different locations. Failure on Jan 26 SH and Facets. Both avalanches ran over skin tracks and traverse tracks below. Avalanche initiated in area of undisturbed/unskied snow.
